Questions

Common questions

Pour-in-place or pre-cast coping — what's the difference?

Pour-in-place coping is formed and poured right on the pool, so it reads as one continuous edge and can be colored or sand-washed to match the deck. Pre-cast coping is made ahead in pieces and set on the bond beam; you pick the style and color from a supplier. We'll talk through which one fits your pool at the site walk.

Do you supply the tile and stone?

Usually not. Tile, natural stone and pre-cast coping are your choice, and you or your builder buy them — or we carry an allowance in the bid. Our price covers the install and the setting materials.

Can you work as a sub for my pool builder?

Yes. We work behind pool builders on coping, tile, decking and drains. Send the plan set and we'll return a scope by line item, in linear and square feet. Builders can request access to contractor rates on our For Builders page.

Do you set water features and fire bowls?

Yes. We set sheer descents, scuppers and fire bowls as part of the masonry. The features themselves come from the owner or the pool builder.

What's in the estimate?

We walk the pool, measure it, and send a written scope with each line item — coping, tile, raised bond beam, bonding, clean-up — so you can see what's in and what's not. The estimate is free.
