The Coastal Zone generally runs inland to I-5. The city's coastal Implementation Plan is not certified, so the 1982 exclusion order applies: homes in R-1 to R-4 are excluded, but not lots on or next to canyons, coastal bluffs or beaches. Bluff setback is 25 ft; walls, fences and patio covers may come to 10 ft from the edge.
